Dr. Toste and Dr. Esther Lindström (Lehigh University) were guest editors of an upcoming special issue of Intervention in School and Clinic, Volume 59(1).
The goal of this special issue was to provide timely and well-informed guidance on how to bring the science of reading to teacher preparation programs. The collection of articles in this issue were written by and for teacher educators, with the express purpose of informing the design and delivery of special education reading methods courses. The authors provide recommendations for delivering high-quality, effective instruction to preservice teachers so that they may, in turn, deliver high-quality, effective reading instruction to K–12 students with disabilities.
You can read the introduction to this special issue here, and check out the articles that appear in this issue on the ISC website.
