Dr. Toste's new article on quality indicators for group design special education research is now published online in Exceptional Children. This article was written with Drs. Jessica Logan (Vanderbilt University), Karrie Shogren (University of Kansas), and Brian Boyd (University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill). In this article, they propose an expanded set of quality indicators to promote better understanding of for whom and under what conditions interventions, programs, and practices are more or less effective. They also integrate quality indicators to further methodological rigor via open science practices. To advance the ultimate goal of equitable educational outcomes for all students with disabilities, these quality indicators are viewed as a guide to conducting the most thoughtful, context-relevant, rigorous research that we are able.
